WORLD WIDE RESEARCH – FOR TOMORROWS RESULTS
Limagrain’s research is organised around more than one hundred research centres and with approximately 1500 researchers spread out over the world. The focus is on plant breeding programs covering the main crops worked on by the group. The increase in agronomic yields forms the basis of research challenges. The creation or breeding of new varieties must add economic value and productivity.
While using cutting edge technology, including bio-technological genetic processes and state of the art equipment, environmental awareness remains a top priority for Limagrain and any plant improvement must in no way be detrimental to the environment.
Future progress in genetics will enable us to stay abreast of the challenges in agricultural production and be able to supply in the demands of nine billion inhabitants in 2050. Limagrain research currently focusses on eight main agronomic crops of which maize, sunower, wheat and soybeans are applicable to South Africa.
Link Seed is proud to be part of this dynamic process.
