R & A Industrial Forklift Services (Pty) Ltd was established by Riaan Swart who is from Duiwelskloof. The owner saw a need to establish a forklift hire and maintenance business that could take advantage of business opportunities within private and government sector.
R & A Industrial Forklift Services (Pty) Ltd plans to officially started its operations in April 2017, it was registered in March 2017. The business is a start-up therefore is looking to acquire a much desired capital and attract markets to kick-start the operations. The business is wholly owned by Riaan Swart. Riaan Swart has been working for Toyota where he was responsible to service forklifts for many years.
The business is looking to secure industrial premises in Tzaneen. Tzaneen is centrally located and boasts agricultural and manufacturing industries. The town is the biggest in Mopani and is surrounded by other 4 municipalities, namely; Letaba, Giyani, Maruleng and Phalaborwa. The business is expecting to attract the clients from as far as Venda due to a huge gap that exists in the market.
A forklift (also called a lift truck, a fork truck, or a forklift truck) is a powere d industrial truck used to lift and move materials short distances. The forklift was developed in the early 20th century by various companies including the transmission manufacturing company Clark and the hoist company Yale & Towne Manufacturing. Following World War II the use and development of the forklift truck has greatly expanded worldwide. Forklifts have become an indispensable piece of equipment in manufacturing and warehousing operations. In 2013 alone the top 20 manufacturers worldwide posted sales of R364.8 billion with 944,405 machines sold.
R & A Industrial Forklift Services (Pty) Ltd will make available forklifts machines to businesses for rental. This will be done on contractual basis and drivers will be provided. In addition, the business will maintain the contracted and non-contracted machines on regular basis. Each forklift will be rented for R6500 per month as a standard price. The business plans to start with 40 forklifts during the first year of operation.
