Knittex was established in 1964 and is known as a world leader in the manufacture and supply of knitted synthetic fabrics / shade net used in the agricultural, domestic (i.e. nursery shade cloth, knitted shade cloth, garden windbreak netting, shading nets), industrial (i.e. greenhouse netting), civil and mining (i.e. windbreak nets, barrier nets, safety barrier netting) industries.

Every Knittex product has been made to a very high standard, using the best pigments, High Density Polyethylene and ultra violet inhibitors available. Rigorous burst, tear, shade and other tests are carried out to meet stringent standards set out and regulated by various global Standards Providers such as the SATAS (South African Technical Auditing Service), AS (The Australian Standards), Cal Fire (The Californian State Fire Marshal) and ASTM International (The American Society of Testing and Materials).

Penetrable Wind Barrier Protection
Knittex Windbreak Nets provide a penetrable wind barrier to protect crops, plants, soil and buildings and are unlike solid wind barriers which can cause more damage than the wind itself.
Windbreak Nets reduce the wind velocity on the leeward side by approximately 35%, thus reducing damage caused by sandblasting, erosion, water evaporation and temperature fluctuations.
Braided And Twisted Ropes
Knittex supplies rope and twine that is manufactured from predominately extruded polyethylene, polypropylene and co-polymer products. Our ropes and twines are also available in other fibres in yarn form such as cotton, rayon, nylon and polyester.
Our Twine, Braid and Stranded rope comes in a variety of packaging for numerous markets i.e. agricultural, mining, fishing, retail and wholesale.
Frost Guard Protects
If your weather is a bit too cold or your plants a little tender, Knittex Frost Guard will help your garden through winter.
Plants are most vulnerable at night when temperatures drop, moisture is in the air and the wind picks up. Weather is also so unpredictable and one never knows when an unexpected frost may occur. Generally, plants do not grow much during winter, so to prevent them being set back even further through cold conditions and/or frost, protect them with Knittex Frost Guard, a polyester spunbond membrane fabric.
