Agricultural Training with A Difference

Agri Skills Transfer is an agricultural training provider with a difference. We have a small holding in the Cullinan area where we offer our learners the opportunity to gain invaluable practical skills while they study. Our Cullinan Farm Training Centre has the capacity to provide hands-on experience in beef cattle, goats, poultry (layers and broilers), piggery, sheep, vegetables, various fruit trees, and saffron.

Agri Skills Transfer is an accredited service provider with the AgriSETA with a broad scope of programmes. Our main focus is the National Certificate and National Diploma in Animal or Plant Production. These programmes can be done via blended learning (online & in-person practical at Cullinan Farm) or as distance learning. Learners are assigned a mentor who will guide them through the programme to ensure they meet all their goals and successfully complete their training.

Our corporate clients typically enroll their staff on learnerships, and the following courses have proven popular:

• Horticulture,
• Mixed farming,
• Agri sales and services,
• Agri trade processes, and
• Fruit packing and grading processes.

We work with our clients to tailor their training to their industry as much as possible. Our highly qualified facilitators are experts in their field and easily transfer their theoretical and practical knowledge to the learners.

Established and new farmers who do not have time to spare will find our short courses ideal. These courses are between 3 – 5 days longs and consists of theory and practical components. Our current short course list consists of:

• Beef cattle production,
• Goat production,
• Pig production,
• Plant production with an added module on saffron,
• Poultry production,
• Sheep production, and
• Drive a tractor.

These agricultural short courses cover all the basic information needed to start or improve your farming venture.

We also have a new offering for 2023, Agritourism! This course is 5 month exclusive gap experience that combines agricultural short courses with tourism. Agritourism is when visitors come to your working farm for enjoyment or educational purposes. This can be a show-and-tell visit, or they can actively take part in some of the day-to-day activities on the farm. Agritourism is a great way to generate alternative sources of income for your farm.
