BRITS POLES is a leading manufacturer of Treated Timber Poles and Treated Timber Products in South Africa. Our Core Products, Treated Poles, are widely used in Electricity Distribution, Telecom (Telephone/Fibre cables), Agriculture (Shade Nets, Vineyards, Fencing etc.), Building/Construction (Lapas, Car Ports etc.) and DIY (for your Home and Garden).

We also supply a variety of Sawn Timber and Home Improvement Products. At our premises we also run a Hardware Store where all the basic needs for your Project can be conveniently purchased. Our knowledgeable staff will offer advice on your queries and assist in supplying you with the correct material and tools.

As our name suggests, we are situated near the town of Brits in the North West Province of South Africa. Conveniently located close to Gauteng and Botswana, but also situated on the main distribution routes to Namibia and the Northern Cape. Our central location offers our customers fast and efficient Service. Our Certified, High-Quality Products treated with either CCA (Copper Chrome Arsenate) or Creosote will ensure that our valued Customers are satisfied with BRITS POLES as their preferred choice of supplier.

BRITS POLES started off as a family-run business over 20 years ago. Starting from humble beginnings, the business grew into a household name for the supply of CCA and Creosote treated Poles in South Africa and also Exports into Africa.

In 2020 the Company underwent a transformation and is now wholly owned by Azkoyen (Pty) Ltd.

What we do

Azkoyen (Pty) Ltd has been a supplier of raw material timber to Treating Plants and Mining Timber Companies for many years in South Africa. With an extensive interest in the harvesting and supply of raw material timber, the opportunity to extend the value chain into Treated Timber was a natural progression of the company’s growth.

Transmission Poles

We are an accredited manufacturer of Transmission Poles according to SANS:754 Specifications. These Poles are used in Electricity Distribution and also in Telecom Networks (Fibre-Optic Networks etc.).

Building & Fencing Poles

We are an accredited manufacturer of Building and Fencing Poles according to SANS:457-3 and SANS:1288 Specifications. Building & Fencing Poles are used in DIY Projects around the house or in Agriculture (Fencing, Shade-Net Construction, Vineyard Structures etc.)

Droppers & Laths

We are an accredited manufacturer of SANS:1288 Products. Droppers and Laths are used for Home Projects (e.g. Thatching) or for Agricultural applications (e.g. Fencing).

Home Improvement & DIY

We manufacture and treat a wide range of Home Improvement Products. From Garden Edging for your Garden Project or Lean-To project to Trellises for Plant and Panels for Fencing.

Commercial & Industrial Application

We have a range of treated or untreated products for Commercial and Industrial Applications. These include Guardrail-Posts (for Road Construction), Dunnage or “Slab-Poles” that are used for the Transport or Storage of heavy Products (e.g. Granite Blocks or Container-Yards). We also manufacture “Shavings” that can be used in Gardening and/or Chicken and Horse farms.
